Finally got my Dad’s high school and college scrapbooks, from the late 1940’s through the mid-1950’s, patched up, scanned, and stored safely in multiple cloud locations. Everything is out of order, but my primary goal was to preserve the content of those scrapbooks before the newsprint clippings completely disintegrated like the albums themselves have.
I scanned the pages as PDF’s, and I don’t think I can post a PDF as an image here. I will if I can figure out how to do it.
“Diminutive Don” and “Little Don Sebastian” were two of the monikers by which he was known. Sportswriters were a bit freer with adjectives than they are today, it seems. No political correctness anywhere in sight. Dad was justly proud of his athletic accomplishments. I’m pretty sure his basketball days at Baton Rouge’s Istrouma High School, and then at LSU, were the highlight of his life.
